1. Low intensity:  IOP services that include a minimum of nine therapy hours provided in a one-week period.  Typically, low intensity IOP services occur during the late afternoon and early evening hours.  These services can include any combination of individual and group services that are appropriate to address the individual concerns of the client.  Clients will work with an individual therapist to select appropriate groups from the menu of options listed above.

2. High intensity:  IOP services that include a minimum of 20 therapy hours provided in a one-week period.  The typical format for high intensity IOP services involves participation in programming with the residential clients and occurs between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Programming can include a combination of individual and group services and the client will work with an individual therapist to select appropriate groups from the menu of options.

IOP services allow clients an intensive treatment experience while having the option of remaining in their own home. It can also be utilized as a "step-down" service for some clients in residential treatment.
